The initiative According To Government is in Furtherance Of President Tinubu’s commitment to Easing The Impact Of Fuel Subsidy Removal On Nigerians, Through Reduction In Energy Cost.
The Government according To A Press Statement Released By The President’s Media And Publicity Adviser, Ajuri Ngelale On Friday In Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital, Is Part Of Ongoing Efforts By Government To
Revolutionize The Transportation Landscape In Nigeria, While Targeting Over 11,500 New CNG-Enabled Vehicles And 55,000 CNG Conversion kits for Existing PMS-Dependent Vehicles.
The Statement Further Noted That , in line with The PCNGI’s Determination To Ensuring A Seamless Integration Of CNG Utility Within The Current Midstream And Downstream Energy Value Chain, The PCNGI Will Facilitate The Provision Of Workshops Across All Geopolitical Zones And States With Essential kits And Comprehensive Training For Those Who Would Be Employed As Staff To Handle The New Project.
The PCNGI, According To Government Is Designed To Achieve The Development Of New Stakeholder-Operated Intrastate Mass Transit Systems Built On CNG.
Support For States To Onboard New CNG buses As Part Of Their Respective Intrastate Mass Transit network.
The Deployment Of CNG Buses Through Existing Private Mass Transit Operators, Including New Financing Programmes For Operators Via An Innovative Asset Finance Programme, Amongst Others
The CNG Conversion Project The Statement Also Disclosed Is Another Indication Of Government’s Commitment And Seriousness To Fostering A Cleaner Environment Aimed At Reducing Carbon Emissions And Promoting Energy Security Through The Utilization Of Domestic Natural Gas Resources.
