More Troubles For Nigeria’s Petroleum Sector As Natural Oil And Gas Suppliers Association Threatens Shutdown Of Sector

The Natural Oil and Gas suppliers association of Nigeria has urged the Nigerian government to urgently fix bad roads and encourage private and modular refineries to enable affordable Petroleum products.
Addressing a News Conference in Abuja on Tuesday over current developments in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector, The National President of NOGASA Benneth Korie called on the government to reduce Value added tax on imported products especially Automotive Gasoline Oil ( AGO) called Diesel to reduce cost of transporting Petroleum products across the country .
Korie who decried the fall of Naira to the dollar in the exchange market which he noted has impacted negatively on importation urged government to declare a state of emergency on all refineries in the country to hasten repairs and improve Naira value in the foreign exchange market.
The NOGOSA President said the association will not hesitate to downtool begining from next month if government fails to address it’s concerns as it relates to current challenges in the oil and gas sector.
