Navy Destroys Five Illegal Oil Refineries In Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria.

Nigerian Navy Forward Operating Base, Igbokoda, Ondo state, southwest Nigeria, has destroyed five illegal refineries containing a total of 365,000 litres of crude oil at Araromi Sea-Side of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Commanding Officer, Forward Operating Base, Igbokoda, Navy Captain Wasuku Alushi, made this known during a tour of the illegal refining sites with Journalists on Wednesday.
Barely two weeks after the Launch of “Operation Delta Sanity” by the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla to cambat criminality,The initiative has started yielding some results with the discovery of five illegal sites for refining over 365,000 litres of crude oil in the Araromi forest area of the state.
The commanding officer, Navy Captain Wasuku Alushi who led the operation said the efforts is to curb crude oil theft in the Niger Delta area of Nigeria with the aim of sanitizing the environment.
Alushi appealed to community leaders to cooperate with security Agencies to check the illegal act, considering the negative impact on the Nation’s economy.
The Naval base assured that it will not relent in ending the menace of crude oil theft, illegal refiners, and other related crime in the region with negative consequences on the nation’s oil and gas sector.
