The Benin Electricity distribution company management, okpella division, has appealed for understanding amongst residents of the okpella community in the etsako east local government area of edo state, south south Nigeria.
The appeal according to a statement by the Electricity distribution company followed a recent incident where a staff of the company was attacked by residents of the Imiamunhe community of the area while on service duty.
The distribution company said it frowns at situations where its staff on lawful duties would be attacked unnecessarily by those who may not have proper understanding of how the distribution company executes its mandate as critical player in the power sector distribution value chain.
While calling on community leaders to create more awareness amongst the youths, the company noted that it will continue to work with all stakeholders in okpella to ensure stability of power supply to the community.
