The economic and financial crimes commission has arraigned a former minister of power in Nigeria, Olu Agunloye over alleged misappropriation of funds to the tune of six billion dollars through fraudulent contract awards, for the construction of 3,960 megawatts mambilla hydroelectric power station .
Nigeria’s power sector has been a major centre of corrupt practices since the coming of democracy in 1999.
The former minister has however pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against by the anti graft commission.
