Nigeria’s minister of power adebayo adelabu has reaffirmed the commitment of the current administration under president bola tinubu to grow investments in the Nigeria’s power sector.
Adelabu who was represented at the occasion of the 2023 edition of the strategic conference of the association of energy correspondents of Nigeria held In Lagos said ongoing electricity sector reforms since 2005 leading to the recent new electricity act signed by the president is all part of the process to boost investor confidence.
Also speaking at the conference, Chief executive officer, Nigerian upstream regulatory commission, Gbenga komolafe, who was also represented at the event said the petroleum industry act has ensured credibility for the sector, noting that regulatory functions granted the commission by law will not be compromised in ensuring that standards is maintained across board.
Earlier, chairman of the association of energy correspondents of Nigeria, Olu philips in his welcome address to participants said the association as a critical stakeholder in the energy sector value chain is poised to use such conference to set agenda for the sector through the wide range of topics put on the table for deliberations at the event .
Stakeholders at the conference expressed confidence on the future of the nation’s energy sector, acknowledging that the theme for the conference, Nigeria’s energy transition : Enhancing investment opportunities and addressing challenges in the oil and gas sector is apt for driving the conversation on national development and energy sustainability.
