The National Executive Council Of The Nigerian Labour Congress Led By It’s President Joe Ajaero Has Threatened To Shut Down Nigeria’s Economy, Without Any Formal Notice To The Federal Government, Should There Be Further Hike In The Price Of Premium Motor Spirit Per Litre.

The Labour President, Made The Disclosure In Abuja Tuesday, During A Meeting Of The African Trade Union Alliance, Where Labour Also Warned Government, Against Undermining It’s Demands.

The Latest Threat By The Nigerian Labour Congress Is Coming Amid New Hints That There May Be A Further Upward Review In The Price Of Premium Motor Spirit Per Litre In The Coming Days, A Development The NLC Says It Will Reject Completely.

Price Fluctuations On Premium Motor Spirit In Recent Months is Occasioned By Government Pronouncement Removing Subsidy On Fuel On May 29th , Just As Major Oil Marketers, And Independent Petroleum Marketers Association Of Nigeria, Have previously Blamed Foreign Exchange Volatility Amongst Other Reasons, For Price Review In The Past .

Citizens Across Board Are Already Grappling With The Pains Associated With Price Reviews Before Now, And The Latest, If Implemented May Further Worsen The Conditions Of An Already Impoverished Mass, Living Below One U.S Dollar Per Day.
