NLNG DENIES SHUT DOWN OF PLANT.

The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Has Denied Report In One Of Nigeria’s National Newspapers, Published Wednesday, 17th Of August, 2023, Suggesting The Shutting Down Of NLNG, And The Alleged Implications Of That On Gas Production.

While Reacting To The Media Report, In A Press Statement, Dated Thursday, 18th, August, 2023, And Released By Andy Odey, General Manager, External Relations And Sustainable Development, The Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas, Denied The Shut Down Of NLNG, Describing The Media Report As False And Misleading.

The Press Statement, Captioned “NLNG PLANT IS NOT SHUT DOWN” Stated That For The Purpose Of Clarity,

“NLNG Reiterates That Operation At It’s Plant On Bonny Island Is Still Active Despite A Force Majeure, Which Still Subsists Due To The Unavailability Of Upstream Gas Suppliers’ Major Liquids Evaluation Pipelines Occasioned By Sabotage And Vandalism”

The Press Statement Further Noted, That

“The Plant Continues To Produce LNG And LPG Commensurate To The Feed Gas It Received From It’s Upstream Gas Suppliers’, It’s Cargo Loading Operation Also Continues Without Interruption”

The Press Statement, which also Disclosed, That The Latest Cargo From The Bonny Plant Sailed On 17th August, 2023 To The St.Croix, U.S Virgin Islands, Carrying 140,000 M3 Of LNG, Noted That The NLNG Remains Committed To Collaborating With Key Stakeholders To Minimise The Impact Of The Consequent Gas Supply Shortage.
