The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed reports of an explosion at the Warri Refining and Petrochemical Company (WRPC), describing them as “completely false.”
Caption: According to a statement issued by the Chief Corporate Communications, NNPC Ltd OluFemi Soneye, the Company said it intentionally shut down operations at WRPC Area 1 on January 25, 2025, to conduct routine maintenance on select equipment.
The maintenance works, which are expected to be completed within the next few days, aim to ensure the production of high-quality finished and intermediate products, including Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and Kerosene (Kero).
Despite the ongoing maintenance, NNPC Ltd said it has maintained an average of eight trucks per day loading AGO over the past 11 days, with sufficient supply available to sustain ongoing truck load-out operations.
