Women In Energy Network Celebrates 2023 Induction And Award Ceremony In Grand Style

It was a night of joy and celebration as women under the umbrella of women in energy network converged on Saturday, the 9th of December, 2023 to celebrate it’s second annual awards and induction ceremony .
In her opening remarks contained in the speech at the event, President of the association, Eyono fatai-williams used the occasion to X-ray the activities of the network, where she noted that the award ceremony was not just a celebration of success, but also a recognition of the resilience, dedication, and innovation by the female gender who have left footprints in the energy sector.
The president in her speech further disclosed that, the event is also a reflection of the commitment of the women to fostering a more inclusive and diverse energy landscape .
On the activities of the women in energy network in the last one year, the president in the speech said the association undertook different initiatives within the period under review, specifically, in her words,
“Women in energy network has been committed to creating meaningful impact through a variety of initiatives, one of our standout accomplishments has been the launch of the wien women podcast”.
The platform she disclosed, allow members to amplify the voices of inspiring women in the energy sector, through sharing of impactful stories, insights, experiences and expertise.
The women body according to Eyono fatai-williams also organised masterclasses and webinars in the last one year, subsequently, leading to the creation of the wien newsletter, for information dissemination including trends within the energy landscape.
The president further talked about the wien mentorship program which she referred to as a breeding ground for nurturing the next generation of female leaders in the energy sector.
In her closing remarks, Eyono fatai-williams advised members to take a moment to appreciate and take advantage of the mutual bonds members have forged within the network in the spirit of unity and empowerment.
Some new members were officially inducted into the fold of the body, with awards presented to individuals and organisations who have distinguished themselves in their choosen fields as part of the high point of the event .
On ground to spice the day was a live band by Dede mabiaku the Afro beat maestro who thrilled his audience to tunes of Afro beats including old school music of the 70’s and 80’s.
