The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company Has Called On All Consumers Under It’s Brand To Quickly Begin Processes To Upgrade Their Existing Prepaid Meters.

In An Internal Memo Sighted By Energy News Stream, The Distribution Company Said, A Global Software Update Is Underway, That Will Affect Existing STS Prepaid Meters, Described As The TID Rollover, Such That, After The November, 24TH, 2024 Deadline, Consumers Will Be Unable To Use Their STS Prepaid Meters, If They Fail To Upgrade.

While Giving Further Clarifications On The Upgrade During An Interview With Energy News Stream On Wednesday, Media Officer To The Distribution Company, Busolami Tunwase, Noted That About Eighty Percent Of It’s Customers Have Done Their Upgrade, But Advised Others To Explore The Available Channels To Go For Their Upgrade, To Enable Them Continue To Enjoy The Services Under It’s Platform.

The Distribution Company Further Noted That It’s Field Officers Will Be On Ground To Assist Customers In The Upgrade Process, While Also Noting That, Consumers Could Reach It’s Customers Care Service Unit , In The Event Of Challenges That May Arise, In The Cause Upgrade Processes.

Meanwhile, The Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission Has Also Joined The Growing Calls For Electricity Consumers Nationwide, To Upgrade Existing STS Prepaid Meters Ahead Of The Deadline.
